27Mbps just happens to be the total amount of bandwidth that AT&T U-verse splits between Internet and HDTV (25MHz down, 2MHz up). Maybe it's a subtle tweak at them? "You could have offered 22/5 Internet if you hadn't shoehorned a half-baked IPTV service in too..."
I'm not going to be happy until somebody here builds FTTH. 100Mbps symmetric or bust. Gigabit will be old hat to FiOS customers by the time that happens in AT&T/Comcast land I suspect.
