Re: Do Sacramento soon please Sounds just like my situation.
Surewest FTTH service is right across the street from my condo community and yet Surewest has no interest in bringing it to us despite the fact that each building which has 6 homes each already have cat5 drops in the commroom which would make it as simple as connecting the cat5 drop to a fiber fed ONT within the comm room. But despite my efforts (and talking to HOA manager and him wanting to speak to surewest manager to make it happen) Surewest only does greenlit MDU areas and gave me the finger.
That leaves me between AT&T U-Verse and Comcast and I went with Comcast given that DOCSIS 3 has so much more potential than VDSL. Comcast has been pretty good so far except this past week has been brutal with packet loss and connection issues. I'm hoping this was for potential DOCSIS3 upgrades because it usually is never that bad. And from a compitition standpoint it would be wise to offer it considering they compete with AT&T AND Surewest. |

 | I also live in a Condo Complex in the Natomas Area of Sacramento and same story with Surewest, they can't give you the high speeds due to what you said. I got Comcast and it worked fine until the last 2 weeks when I started getting barely 400kbps. Calls to Comcast were of no help as they kept saying everything "looks fine" from their end.
I even switched to another cable modem by exchanging it and still the same slow speeds. I wonder if I have hit their 250Gig limit (since i was backing up my hard drive to Mozy) and also use Roku/Netflix to watch some HD movies.
Or maybe its a temporary problem in my area which they are not admitting to. |
