| [Connectivity] switched from router to direct connect
Recently my router started malfunctioning, in which is sometimes doesn't turn on. My internet worked fine when it was connected to the router. However, when my router refuses to turn on, I am forced to directly connect the comcast motorola sb5101 modem to my computer. With a direct connection, the connection speed is sporatic, in which it goes from normal speed to no speed at all. Is there a way to make it so that when I directly connect the motorola modem to my computer, I wouldn't be getting unsteady connection speeds? Thanks! |

Santa Maria, CA | My advice to you is just go down to your local comcast office and exchange you modem. This may save you hours of frustration. |

I bought my modem from online, so I don't think I can exchange it. |
