Define "cheap".

Generally speaking, slingbox and hava are the most popular solutions. Have you tried froogling "iptv"? »www.google.com/products?q=iptv&b···Products

Without knowing more about your a) set up and b) what you're trying to accomplish precisely, it's hard to provide more specific suggestions.

what I am looking to accomplish here is that I want to share my tv channels with my dad who lives 43miles away and I figured that I can put up a media streaming server so he can use IP STB to see my channels that is what I am trying to do.

What makes you think repeating yourself will help the OP?

What makes you think it's not a re-iteration to the OP's reply?

take a look at SoapCast. A server is included and you can send the programs you capture. But there´s no zapping

I have the slingbox pro hd and I recommend it. It's 299.99 but it's worth it and it streams hd. it does not convert it to SD like other ones do. But you do need the bandwidth in order to stream the hd.
