Here we go again!!

said by Warren Tribune-Chronicle, this morning's edition :

Trumbull County could see as much as 10 inches of new snow by 7 p.m. Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning beginning at 8 p.m. today. The service's Cleveland office said Trumbull could have 3 to 5 inches fall tonight and another 3 to 5 inches on Wednesday.

Hang on to your behinds! It's happening again! Folks in SW Ohio should be getting it now!

said by Weather.com... Nat'l Weather Service storm warning :
SNOW WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES... ESPECIALLY AROUND DAYBREAK WEDNESDAY. BY THE TIME THE SNOW TAPERS OFF WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON MOST OF THE REGION SHOULD SEE 8 TO 11 INCHES OF NEW SNOW ACCUMULATION.
This one could be bigger than the last one!

Been getting it - lots of sleet since at least 4:30 PM and still continues. Our customer from South Carolina is getting a lifetimes worth of snow.

Full of gas (the snowblower, that is) and ready to rock'n'roll come morning! Both of them.

I don't think we're going to get much of that freezing rain/sleet mixture. That seems to be staying about an hour south of us. Looks like ours will be just about all snow. Based upon recent history, I doubt very much that the schools will be open in the morning.

So far - in 45 minutes - 1-1/2". It's slowed down for the moment, but it's still early.

At 11 PM - we had 6 straight hours of sleet and I don;t believe it turned to snow till about 5-6 AM. Now we have huge flakes falling...

Well it is snowing and snowing and snowing.
Glad I don't have to go anywhere today.
Those that do have to be somewhere, please be careful.

I cleaned 5-6" of very heavy, wet snow off the drives this morning. The plows have been through, but there's about half an inch of pure ice on the roadway. As I was clearing the drive it started raining for about half an hour, then started sleeting before it changed back into big, fluffy, white snowflakes. It's been snowing that way since about 8:30 or so. Drives are already recovered with white. Schools are all closed... I imagine the roads are a real mess, locally, based on how the street out front looks.

It appears that one of the plows got a little aggressive... my mailbox is turned about 15 degrees from perpendicular to the street. Oh well, another thing to add to my spring "To-Do" list! At least they didn't knock it down completely!!!

We got about 6" of light fluffy snow overnight and 4" more expected during the day today.

Son was just here with his truck w/plow. Came inside for 1 minute...actually took him 3 minutes to go from driveway to backdoor...walking...cuz the snow was up to his kness (he's 6') !
He just finished doing the driveway, neighbor
s driveway, and corner neighbor's driveway - took about 1hr. He then went to the front of my house (I have a corner lot), and shoveled the sidewalk and up to my front steps (so mailman can deliver my mail). That took him another 15 minutes. Got to love my son. I had asked him why he wasn't at work (he's Dent Wizard out of North Olmstead) and he said can't see the vehicles to fix them, so he doesn't have to work.
Before he got to my house, he did his own in Amherst, his f-in-law's 10 blocks away from mine, he'll be doing his sister's driveway (up the block from me), and then head home to Amherst.
Just love that young man (he'll be 37 on Feb 1), but I HATE this damned snow!
City smalltruck plow was by 2x, did a so-so plow job 3 minutes before son got here. Streets are really crappy to drive on.

I just came in from doing the drive for the third time today. There was about 3" of new stuff... just since about noon. We're definitely getting more than we did with the last storm. The plows were around before daybreak today, but they're most certainly losing ground. The street out front has at least 4-5" laying on it. I haven't seen hide nor hair of a city plow since early this morning. But, then, I really don't have to go anywhere so I'm just hunkered down for the duration. May try the grocery store tomorrow... to pick up a few odds and ends that are on sale this week.

All I can say is:
Glad I took off today!!

I wake up and I have enough snow to build a snowman army and have plenty left. I am still considering buying a snowblower and just charge $20/sidewalk. Even the cheapest model at $200 would be paid off in no time.

The avalanche's 4wd has had it's workout today as well. Taking my wife to work was not a bad drive but had it's challenges for sure.

We got 3" of snow initially, then it turned to sleet and freezing rain over night.. Then back to snow in the morning, and dumped about another 4-5 inches on us today..

I shot a quick video this morning when we were getting about 1 inch per hour.

I sure was frazzled by the time I got to work this morning! I didn't need any coffee at work. After this morning's drive, I felt like I'd already drank a couple of pots. The drive home wasn't as bad though. I'm ready for Spring now.

Got everything here cleared off the walk and driveway.
we got about 11".
I took the time to clear the sidewalk and the alley around the block with my tractor.
A fellow with the city's front end loader stopped to thank me for doing it.
The kids are hoping for another day off

I can't even get the sidewalk cleared - I can stand on top of the sleet layer with out falling thru. Not going to spend all night trying to chisel it out.
