[Speed] Docsis 3.0 speed over 120mbps Seattle market

Click for full size
120mbps comcast
just got 50mbps service from Comcast in the Seattle market.

while doing tests to Comcast speed test server in portland (about 200miles away) (»speedtest.comcast.net) I consistantly clock in over 60mbps... and last night got over 120mbps (see attached photo)

verify from speedtest also shows speeds are well over 50mbps... and downloads of Windows7 & other software from Microsoft technet servers to a laptop over a 802.11n wireless lan show 4000kbps (not bad given how heavy the servers run and the wireless link)

must say very impressed..

Thats the future of the internet! Why dont you try »/stest i'd be interested to see the result from that because it seems to give the most accurate speed of any test ive ever used.

For Example i have 16/2 blast and here is the DSLR test

And Comcast Speed Test

PB is not supposed to be on D3 50 MB service someone probably screwed that up temporarily and when they find it they will fix it.

Sheesh. You'd need a 600k receive window just to max that puppy out on a modest 40ms RTT path to a host.

A 600K Rwin will be old news in the coming years
(as was mentioned some people have seen the Vista/Win7 auto Rwin go to 9M

Yep. Just sayin'...most probably have a 128 or MAYBE a 256k window. This is why the newer OSes with the autotune are where it's at!

I like my XP Pro with a 8M rwin

CC should just make a version of TCP optimizer and say here set it to what you want

(My problem with TCP optimizer is that if you want more than 2M its just not as convenient)

although since its just registry settings I might make a simple program that'll let me just type in what I want to set it to

I take it the OP has a gigabit NIC and the Cable modem he has also has a gigE LAN port? Don't see how he can get 120mbps out of a normal 100-baseTx-FD link.

D3 modems by Spec must have a GigE port
and yes I'm guessing he has a Gig router and Nic (or no router)

this means I'll be wanting to buy an NM-1GE for my home router when D3 gets here

ya otherwise how would an 8ch modem do anything with 350Mbit

oh and to the OP how many Channels are you getting I figure at least 3 for that speed (in fact I think that would be the max of 3 (40*3=120)
