Re: Why Comcast won't play: Verizon They already have. There's at least one thread in the Mediacom forum where someone's been terminated. In one case for sure, the first two strikes were actually for the same file (and same timestamp, so someone just sent the *same* complaint twice!)
I've just cancelled my service to basically preempt termination. I did not really ask what my 1st strike was for, the second about a month later, I had not run a thing since the first.. third, they do give one last chance to sign a form saying you won't do it again. I went ahead and cancelled.. I have a Verizon aircard already, which is fine for everything but large transfers (due to the 5GB cap).. if I can't use the cable for large transfers it's pointless for me to have it.
Reportedly, it was implemented at AT&T's insistence (AT&T is Mediacom's upstream provider). There's a thread regarding Sandvines (conclusion, Mediacom doesn't have one where the OP thought they did), which turned into a discussion regarding just this topic. |
