Re: Hold on to your hat..

As a residential customer in Southern NH so far things have been fine. FairPoint upgraded my DSL to 3000/768 where Verizon would not due to distance. Been stable at new speed so I'm a happy camper. Phone service is fine.

A friend works for FairPoint. At first was not happy being transferred from Verizon so so far things are working out.

The brochure they sent out about changing domain name for Verizon.net to MyFairpoint.net could have been worded a little better. It would have been nice if the MyfairPoint.net portal at least had a dummy web page instead of Page not found message.

Hope the transfer goes smoothly so they can focus on rolling out DSL to the boonies as promised. Once that is done hopefully they will be able to raise the Capital needed to finish deploying FTTP begun by Verizon. But I have no illusions that is going to happen any time soon.

Also a residential customer in NH and my FIOS speed was dropped from 20/2 to 15/2 with no price change. Was really hoping for TV but thats not happening............
All in all I'm lucky to have the fiber but was hoping for a bit more. Now we'll most likely see less with Fairpoint.

b*stard...i would love to have any fiber connection available. Unfortunately I'm stuck without...and DSL around here isn't reliable enough according to some of my neighbors. they indicate it's slower than advertised.

I doubt there will be any improvements and we'll have to wait until who knows when... *sigh*
