It would still be better than cable at twice the price

If DirecTV were to price itself out of my ability to remain a subscriber I would probably just sell the TV. After decades of being screwed over by cable prior to switching to DirecTV I would rather just do without television than go back to cable.

I have to agree with you.

Every year seems that every provider has some kind of price increase. Comcast, Dish, Directv, and so on. None of them have frozen prices for a long period of time. So I don't let the price dictate my decision as much as the service does.

Does Directv have everything I want in HD? Yes
Is Directv adding new HD channels? Yes
Are they the HD leader right now when it comes to national channels? Yes
Do they have HD locals in my area? Yes
Do they have NHL Center Ice with a lot of the games in HD? Yes
Do I have problems with my picture or equipment hassles? No

So, I am not going to argue. Directv is going to keep getting my money until someone else steps up to the plate and can beat them on content and service.

Dollar for dollar, Directv beats Comcast around here in HD quality, quantity and price. After Comcast raised prices twice in one year, that was straw that broke the camels back. Got Directv and never looked back. Very happy with my service and it beats cable and saves me about $30-40 for a similar deal with cable.

currently w/ comcast because they gave me a 12 month deal that will knock your socks off---but---come summer, i'll give them a call & if they don't redo the deal, then directtv & i are going to get very cozy w/ hd & multiple hd/dvrs. my consumer dollars are darn hard-earned & they will go to the best deal.
