Re: DirecTV has sports in HD Series3 TiVos are awesome. They're just way too costly:
1) Cost of equipment
2) Cost of TiVo Service
3) Cost of two CableCARDs
TiVo made a lot more sense on DirecTV where the service fee was smaller (and covered a whole house), and the boxes were partially subsidized. Fortunately new DirecTV HD TiVos are supposedly coming the second half of this year .
