Re: Is anyone surpised? Jobs are being offshored because yes, it is cheaper for the company to do so. Most, if not all, of the companies that are offshoring are corporations who tend to focus more on stockholder value than anything else. Of course they go to the cheap labor to reduce costs and get those fatter profits. That doesn't mean the companies can't be prosperous keeping their production in the states. Look at the ledgers of these companies and see what their earnings and profits were before going out of the country. They were doing just fine. |
