jbeenemd posted : Anyone here know of a source to download 40053 PRL? I've talked to tech support a couple of times and they promised me that they would push it to me. This weekend I had time to play with my modem again and moved the connection from my router to my computer to check the PRL and sure enough I still have 40052!!! I've also tried the latest Verizon PRL that I cold find (65036) and there is no difference in performance.

Alltel Axcess software running and I get 3 and sometime 4 bars with an RSSI of between -77 to -82. It says rA for the connection. My connection is terrible. I was getting a better connection with EVDO!!! Download and upload I wont even report as both are poor but Ping is decent at 136. Perhaps with time the modem accepts new things, I just dont know. Then decided to get an amplifier just to do all i could to cover all bets. Turns out the amplifier came with an antenna too. The adapter i have fits the Huawei Ec228 card but they have adapters in the local Cadillac Alltel store. this one fits several cards. IM with private message if interested. I want to get this off the board. they may not like it

sailboattrip posted : upnorth49688

Send me a private IM and I will be glad to share my experiences regarding Alltel. I assume your numbers are antenna signal strength. You may want to consider an antenna attached to your data card. I happen to have an extra one you can have cheap. Also consider an amplified antenna. Pioneer is right in that verizon prl performance at this point is much better. at some point though, they will complete merger of the systems and we will be stuck with alltels system in the verizon name.

PS I love the two golf courses you have there in Tustin.

I didn't know until recently that two that were called Crown Communication are Verizon. One is Alltel. I had a poor connection until RevA became available. It still stalls sometimes but maybe that's my virus program checking to make sure it's ok. I am not very high tec at all but that's my thoughts. Good luck to you. Have you tried the prl that works for me? It's 51143.

I am almost to point of canceiling allel and getting two verizon contracts for a 10GB cap. Yea i can afford it. But I will wait until the merger is more complete before acting.
