Acceptable ISP speeds??

Eircom: Ireland rating 4/10 at best

Hi all,

Im with Eircom(rep of Ireland), hardware wise everything was bought in 2008, have added ram and am running vista32.

My ISP is charging me ‚30 per month just for a 2mb line.
I have never, NEVER gotten a speed above 900kbs (approx but its never gone above 1mb) and often its quite lower.

My question is, what are acceptable speeds in your country?
Would you accept this?
What guaruntees would you demand?

Finally any advice?? (I really believe we're getting ripped off in dear old Eire)

Thanks everyone

EIRE

Hi there macillin.. I'm also an Irish man..

I've got 3MEG BB from Eircom (old 2 meg) and i always

get speeds of around 2600 - 2800 Kbps d/l as standard..

Only on very rare occasions does my connection drop below that..

Sounds to me like your connection settings could do with some Tweaking..

Best of luck..

tec..
