As with any residential cable/DSL line, top speeds are never guaranteed. Assuming you've done everything you can on your side to tweak your line (Going through as few splitters as possible, using RG6 cable, making sure your cable stats are within range, etc.), why don't you try calling a tech out?
My speeds are always top notch unless I hit the throttling cap for the day, but then again I'm on the 3 meg package anyway.
I guess the reason I'm happy with CableOne is due to the fact I've been stuck on 1.5 (really 1.2 mbit..) DSL for years.. and I have their 3 meg package.
I do have to agree with you that their service is overpriced, but in areas like mine, they pretty much don't have to be competitive (Though 3 meg DSL is slightly cheaper here... I can't get it.) Their caps aren't that good either, even if you upgrade to the business package.
I guess I can't offer much help, especially considering I live no where near Boise, ID, but I do hope you can figure out what's wrong on the upstream side of things.

3.0? Im not sure what you mean by 3.0, if your talking about Docsis3.0 cableone is not up to that revision yet. I think they are Docsis1.1 or 2... |
