1 edit | Welcome home, Jo!
OK, opus actually had the idea. He would have had this going much earlier if I hadn't thought we probably wouldn't hear from Jo for quite awhile longer. Sorry, opus.
Well, I happened to see Jo wandering through this morning, still in nighty and elken slippers. I heard a rumor that surgery went well and she is home. When she gets situated (meaning critters always come first with our Jo), I have a promise she'll post to tell us all about it.
For now, time for a group hug, big smiles and a big WELCOME HOME for our Jo.
I'm so glad to know the surgery was a success!

| reply to sortofageek THANK YOU, ALL, FOR THE WELCOME BACK GREETINGS!!!
Sorto, I do NOT wear nighties and elken slippers -- LOL!!! I wear flip flops, with socks when it's winter time. And my attire is always some sort of sweats in the winter, since I prefer to be warm as toast.
Yes, the surgery went well, but waking up from general wasn't too fun. I'm told I woke up "funny" -- alot of moaning and groaning. (I'm sure that it was better than the kid next to me who woke up screaming for her mom and swearing like a sailor at everyone!!! ) I don't remember the moaning and groaning, but did finally wake up and realize that I survived the surgery. I was more comfy on my side, and the nurses were nice enough to help me roll over. Once I got there, it went alot easier. Took a bit to "come to" completely, but then I was both VERY thirsty and hungry! Hadn't had anything to eat or drink since midnight the night before, and the staff was quite happy to oblige me with all the water I could drink, along with a nice turkey sandwich. Polished that off, and then was ready to roll. They got me up, and I could immediately tell the difference in my back -- it felt stable. I didn't realize that I had really felt the difference, till after it felt good again. Anyhoo, got dressed, braced, and Donna came and dragged me home to my critters. My puppers were very happy to see me! Got them fed, with Donna's help, and then I headed back to bed. It has taken me till now to both get rid of all the IV fluids and sleep the rest of the anesthesia out of my system. I'm still amazed at how much better my back feels, even with the buggery incision pain that I'm having. I just hope it doesn't start to itch; can't reach it!
I slept most of today, and am up ratting around now; feeling much more like myself now. Have managed to take care of the critters myself today, including trimming a few nails on a few critters. So I'm off to bed again now, for another nap. Time to get out of this brace and into bed; I slept on the couch today with my brace on.
Never fear, I will be back as a regular once again! They say only the good die young, so I figure I'll be around here for a LONG time! -- "I can't save them all, but I sure as hell CAN help move them to safety." - Jo
