| Sorry Speakeasy Well, I hate to do it, but after 10 years, it's time to drop Speakeasy.
it's fairly clear that they're not interested in residential business. As much as I love supporting local Seattle jobs, I'm just not convinced that it really matters anymore given their pricing model.
A recent 4 day outage with my VOIP service didn't help much either, given that I had to take a 1/2 day off work just to be told the problem was at the CO.
The higher cost of Speakeasy has always been easy to justify given the quality of service, the local support and the incredible uptime. But I don't think a company can just keep their prices level and rising for slower service in this competitive environment and not expect defectors.
I will definitely reconsider Speakeasy someday if they come back with something competitive. For now however, I'm going to have to go to the dark side and join Comcast in Seattle and save over $150 a month. That's like getting a $1,800 a year raise, which is actually more of a raise than I got this year, come to think of it.
Good luck Speakeasy, it's been good to do business with you. |
