Sex is normal? Tell that to your 5,6,7,8 year old....

to everyone that's say "sex is normal", etc: Pretend for a sec you have a 8 year old daughter that's watching the Superbowl and see instead male parts. Tell me how you'd deal with this situation. And keep in mind, from what I read, it was a 30 second piece, which is more than enough time to caught a kid's attention.

I sincerely hope Comcast is able to find the Bozos that did this, fire them and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, what a total idiot prank!

But 10 bucks as credit is nothing compared to what a father/mother will have to do to deal with their 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 year old... Even the co-payment for a single child therapy session is far more than 10 bucks, and quite a few sessions may be needed in this situation.

If I had a kid I wouldn't be watching the superbowl with them. I'd hate to have them get hooked on a rediculous past time.

Kids should not be allowed to watch the Super Bowl anymore. This Comcast porn, the janet jackson nipple thing, all these sexually suggestive ads, beer commercials, etc. Not a family atmosphere.

That's a great "Hang-'em-high" mentality.

Look, 8 year-olds watching the Super Bowl.. and paying attention?? Are you kidding me? I guess people with 8 year olds that are able to have an attention span THAT long has themselves a winner kid and I'd be putting their noses in the books, not TV.

America has become a "victimize-me first" bunch of people. People look way to long and hard to find things to be victims of. You want to know how to handle your child? ... like a parent. If you have not thought of, already, how to deal with this sort of "atrocity" then what does it say about one's parenting skills? Therapy? Really? You think the child is going to be mortified to have seen a penis on TV? There is no mortality in seeing human behavior. The gravity of this situation is totally man-made.

People who crash in airplanes and survive need life long therapy or, as you say, "quite a few sessions".. A child that has viewed this material is, to say, going to be doing it themselves and making babies of their own.. that is not a horrific thing.

And like I said.. BE A PARENT! Stop reading Dr. Spock's book of parenting and going with the Jones's.. be a parent and be prepared to handle these things.

I swear.. kinds aren't as fragile as some people make them out to be.

Look, I have, in life, suffered some pretty egregious acts of others. I went to authorities to have them dealt with. I went to regulators and those agencies that over-see these people that caused these things to happen.. know what I mostly was told the few times it happened? ... in a nut-shell, I was told that it was with-in reason. It's only when you bring in the high dollar attorneys who need a 4,000' add-on to their house that something like this becomes a scandal and therapy is needed.

I bet you that these 5,6,7,8,9 year olds would probably forget about the whole thing if you did... and if they didn't.. a simple 2 minute explanation would most likely cause them to forget it and go back to playing with their barbie dolls and transformer action figures.

You should let the pros handle the PR fallout at Comcast. I think you are making them even look worst

I know.. reality bites, huh? It's a dark day in America when people don't know how to parent.

Let me see if I can explain this a little better for you..

You at a cross walk and you want to cross the street. You know you have the right-of-way by law to be in that cross walk and the cars must stop. You enter that cross walk and you see a car coming at a high rate of speed. What do you do?

... do you keep walking along and believe the car is going to stop becuase that's what you've been taught? Or, do you have your own reactive skills in you to make your feet move faster and get out of the way?

If you simply keep walking, you're going to get hit. While you may be in the right for being in the cross walk, it is you who are laying in the hospital broken up, if you're even alive. BUT.. you're in the right!

... or, do you get out of the way, be responsible for yourself and not worry about the system being perfect and remain the better and ahead in the end?

By your own response, you'd rather take your chance, go about your way, get hit by the car, be the victim and try to go after the driver "becuase I'm right" you say...

The point is simple.. what happened is what happened. If you (assuming you're a parent, and if not, you have no business responding anyway) rely on everything being perfect and believing that your child will not be exposed to something you don't want them to see, then BE A PARENT and BE PREPARED TO HANDLE IT! Proper parenting will get any one past this small issue, and it is small. It's only going to be as large as you make it or want it to be.

I don't care what comcast aired.. to me, in my point, its irrelevant. It's not the best thing to happen, but at the same time, a good parent, one who actually IS a parent and is proactive about honing their parenting skills, wouldn't be here bitching about their child seeing a little porn.

This a mole-hill being made into a mountain out of convenience to be a victim.

So I guess I am making them look "worst"..

And, do not come off telling me that I should let the "pros handle the PR fallout" becuase I'm not trying to handle their issue. My point is simple.. BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF! With that said, maybe you should let Karl, here, make sensationalism "news" (and I use that term lightly) reporting his own duty becuase you're just helping the erosion of BBR as a credible resource for broadband news.

These "gotchya" reports are silly and have no business here. This is what I'd expect in the National Enquirer, not a technology blog.

Re: Sex is normal? Tell that to your 5,6,7,8 year old....

Your right about the necessity of parenting. Your wrong about what should happen to those that show porn on a sunday while watching a football game. The events and places where you can go while attempting to do a family "outting" without sex or violence in some form or another are becoming so rare, that exposure is almost a guarantee. This does not make it right. This is some entity inflicting their views on your family.
This isn't any better than all of the sub prime loan recipients that will be now inflicted on you via your tax dollars. Red Herring, I dont think so; it's someone else actions being thrown at you.
This is not about victimization, rather its about Comcraps lack of control over whats being broadcast over their networks.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. A mall; a restaurant; a movie (chosen by you); a sporting event; a park; --- what places are you talking about where all this sex and violence are forced on a family?
