 [General] Grand Central Still Viable?

I have a few GC accounts and they still work but I was wondering if anyone has heard anything new about the progress, future or prognosis for this product offering.

Their press releases, blog and etc. all have recent updates that are almost a year old.

Is this in LIMBO perhaps?

Google a short time ago was quoted as saying "a new version on new infrastructure will be coming soon..." but nothing more:

Well, that's a least "something" positive (I guess)...

It does look like this has taken a back sea to all of the other things (Google Labs etc. hat they continue to update.

I too would not rely on giving my number(s) out to anyone at this point until it gets the Google Corporate blessing.

"According to a comment from Jeff Huber 'a new version on new infrastructure will be coming soon.'"

But who knows what is "soon?" I'm starting to think they work in geologic time over there.

If the service is discontinued, I guess we all should be happy that a "phone number for life" meant the life of GrandCentral, and not ours.

Well it is just a reflection of the "flavor of the month" for Voip related products that has already peaked perhaps?
