1 edit | Facebook aims to market its user data bank to businesses Facebook intends to capitalise on the wealth of information it has about its users by offering its 150 million-strong customer base to corporations as a market research tool. The appearance, later this year, of corporate polls targeted at certain parts of the Facebook audience because of the information they have posted on their pages, is likely to infuriate privacy campaigners.

Data mining your details for business but not really anything new but here it is in the news letting you know your data will be sold and I see this as a privacy concern and security since we have no idea how facebook is going sell what to whom.

Re: Facebook aims to market its user data bank to businesses said by dauthiatull:anyone who didn't already think facebook was selling your data needs to take there head out of their ass I would agree with you and I have said it many times in the past that was the real reason why Rupert Murdock bought myspace and their are many others that provide you a service while at the same time your data is mined and bought and sold.
I know datamining can reveal detail's about your personal profile but that is not really the big risk since you can do data aggregation where you join information together from other sources and I could list plenty of examples but as I said this nothing new with intellipedia.
The whole point is you're the terrorist and no matter what amendments have been broken or altered with another bill you have to learn this is a very serious issue and more so than a lot of people are thinking. -- Fb:2009 The nightmare men have returned. |

Yeah your data is available all over an example would be »letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=ironwalker so just as you say other forums have your data and you can do even more then the above and some things are better not to divulge.
I have spent a lot of time over the years hunting down spammers and remember the good ole days when samspade was my tool of choice and I even received a few death threats cause I would have their site shut down within a few hours.
My point is people are not to careful with their data and you can take an email address and search in google and find a lot of detail from other forums and like I have said this is bad because your data is being sold and the place who may be buying may have a big profile on you with data aggregation techniques. -- Fb:2009 The nightmare men have returned. |
