Carrie @bellsouth.net	[netopia] Wireless Laptop will not work with Bellsouth DSL Netop I just bought a laptop w/ built in wifi and I have BellSouth DSL service w/ Netopia router. It is asking for a security code when I try to connect to the best signal which I'm assuming is mine, but I don't have a security code to put in. Do I need to buy additional equipment to use the laptop on the internet?

The Netopia 3347NWG I have used with Bellsouth has wireless disabled by default. I would enable it, name it something you know, (last name is popular) and set a 26 letter code I can remember.

Here is a demo using a Qwest version of the 3347, Bellsouth uses 192.168.1.254 in my experience.

If your router is not a 3347, give us more hints.
