If they attempted it in Los Angeles - people would flock to AT&T ... who would probably start implementing similar billing (wasn't it Reno, NV that AT&T was testing this with as well) -- Canada = Hollywood North

Only thing that has kept me with TWC is the bundle deal that I've had ($90/month for 10/1, VoIP, Digital TV)

Half Verizon, half AT&T. I live in AT&T country myself, but just 6 miles away from me they can enjoy FIOS in Garden Grove which is Verizon. See here for the list: »www.fiberexperts.com/california-fios.html Most of the cities on that list are in SoCal, as Verizon does not serve the bay area. (Except a few small communities). Look at this map also: »/r0/download/1···rage.gif Both the blue and red are Verizon land line areas. If you know your geography, you can see that Los Angeles County is split in the middle somewhat, with the eastern/southern side being Verizon. The northern/western side of Orange County is also Verizon, as well as large areas in Riverside, and some spots in Ventura county. The light blue areas are served by others, mainly being AT&T I think, but there could be some other telcos involved. AT&T's UVerse is also available in large areas of the Los Angeles area, including where I live. If I have to, I may switch to AT&Ts 18/1.5 plan, and leave TV with TWC. But I don't think they are going to enforce limits in Los Angeles any time soon. I can live with the Comcast 250 Gb limit. But anything less then 100 Gb is absolutely rediculous.

It's too bad they don't offer DSL2+ based speeds yet like AT&T's uVerse. For now I don't think that TWC will enforce caps in the LA market, too much competition. We'll burn that bridge when we get to it.

For $89.95, I can get 8Mbps/1Mbps (Dry) or for $119.95, I can get 10Mbps/1Mbps dry .. still not any higher than I can get on TWC.. but includes TV and VoIP on TWC. For $19.95/month (+POTS service), I could get 3Mbps/512kbps again. -- Canada = Hollywood North

"So Cal" encompasses more than just these 2 counties.
