This will gve high speed to destinations in the State, but how fast is the connection to websites in the continental unites states, the far east or Europe? I think this represents the bottleneck. |

| I have HawTel's 11Mbps service. I get pretty good speeds to the US Mainland usually.
If you look at this map, you'll see Hawaii has plenty of bandwidth.

2 edits | I have relatives in Kula, maui (upcountry) on Oceanic since the system was new, speeds and speed upgrades have NEVER matched the advertise value (though most of the lowlands seem to do OK.) yes there is adaquite capacity to the mainland (add 50-80ms for latentcy to the west coast, plus transit within the mainland.) and asia. a few areas on Oahu and the big island will get high speed, the rest will see business as usual. Hawtel has repeatly proven themselves pretty useless for their location (lucky the phone works) |
