Need Assistance Please

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here and I'd just like to introduce myself. I just got a job doing sales for a fiber optics and IT training company. We are supposed to generate our own leads but to be honest I have no idea where to start. We offer online and onsite training for fiber optic and IT certs. My boss told me to check out corporations and military, but I have no idea where to start.

Does anyone here know of specific companies that are looking for this sort of thing? Does anyone know the titles of the people responsible for contracting for this sort of thing?

I really appreciate any help anyone can give. I've been searching for the past two weeks and have really not had much luck.

Thanks again for any and all replies.

Cheers,
Mark

Hello Mark and welcome to BBR!
From what you indicate your company is the contracting company. And you are to sell your company's service to prospective clients and generate interest in signing students up for school.
Background is needed:
1) Is your company a reseller of fiber supplies?
2) If so does your company offer fiber laying and splicing?
3) Or does your company re-sell fiber connectivity?
3) What kind of IT training? [specifically](ie. general schooling or specific software, programing, hardware, data routing, hardware and/or software administration, etc.)

First rule of fiber optics: you never talk about fiber optics

Hi Pebody,

I appreciate the response.
I'll try to answer your questions:

1) No
2) No
3) No
4) We provide lab and theoretical Fiber Optic Training and certification in the classroom and theoretical training online. We also provide IT training online and onsite in Computer Hardware, Operating systems, Networking, Routers that lead to CompTIA, Cisco, and Microsoft Certification.

We are developing a program to bridge the gap in knowledge of Data/Comm techs that will include much of the above with cabling and VOIP.

So, we are pretty much just a school. My job is to figure out what sort of industries need this kind of training, and reach out to them. Unfortunately I don't have any experience in the Fiber Optic or IT field, so I've got a lot of learning to do. I figured I might be able to get some direction from some of you, as you all work in the field.

Thanks again for the help.

Mark
