Re: Well,

We know what you are referring to. You said Gitmo. I don't see many Timothy McVeigh types there. American Terrorist have caused more acts on U.S. soil than foreigners. How about instead of a justice system, we just beat confessions out of people. Sure save tax payers a HELL OF A LOT OF MONEY if we just beat people into admitting things. Screw the courts. After all, Americans got locked up in Gitmo too. Why not just get forced confessions, throw away the key, and consider it a job well done. I say we start with you. How about a little torture to admitting a heinous crime so you can get locked away in jail for years and years? Sound good?

Once again your ignorance shines through. Guantanamo Bay is a facility for illegal enemy combatants, not US citizens! As for Timothy McVeigh 'types', they would be incarcerated in US prisons (as they should).

You know nothing, certainly not what I was referring to. Gitmo is an equal opportunity lock up facility. Any illegal combatant, from any country, of any religion, is eligible for a stay there. If you are not an American citizen, and you are caught fighting our forces, count on getting a suntan in Cuba.

Strange.

Jose Padilla, and a few others were American Citizens held as enemy combatants without charges. What you don't seem to get bud is you CANNOT HOLD PEOPLE INDEFINITELY, Torture them, and use coerced confessions as hard evidence and fact. Most of what gets said is beaten confessions that ANYONE WOULD say just to make it stop. I am sure if I took a baseball bat and beat you senseless, you'd admit to whatever I wanted to hear, just to make me quit. See that logic? Probably not, you're not the brightest bulb. Anyway, enemy combatant is a sham. Give people a trial. If you can't hold them accountable here. Send them to the Hague for an international Trial.

We gave Hitler and the Nazis a Trial. They killed 6 million. We gave the Christian Murders known as the Bosnian Serbs a Trial for MASSACRING 200,000 Muslim Boys and Men in Serbia at the Hague. So we can do the same to some punk ass terrorists.

AH yes, logic wins again.

P.S. Why bother sticking Timothy McVeigh in a U.S. Court. Seems we toss US Citizens in Gitmo. As I said before, lets just beat ALL ACCUSED PEOPLE in the U.S. Think of it like this. If we BEAT a confession out of people, it'll save tax payers COUNTLESS dollars on going to court. Screw justice. Screw fair trial. Screw taking the high road. I say we toss Timothy Mcveigh and all criminals into jail once accused. NO trial. Only forced confessions. Justice is overrated.... In case you didn't get this part of my rant, its called sarcasm pandering to your idiotic statements.

Ignorance again! I love it.

quote:
On August 16, 2007, José Padilla was found guilty, by a federal jury, of charges against him that he conspired to kill people in an overseas jihad and to fund and support overseas terrorism. He was widely described in media as a suspect of planning to build and explode a "dirty bomb" in the United States, but he was not convicted on this charge.

On January 22, 2008, Padilla was sentenced by Judge Marcia G. Cooke of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida to 17 years and four months in prison.

Now unless I am misreading that, it sure sounds like he was tried, convicted, and sentenced due to his crimes. Not entirely sure where you came up with your theories however....

Try again, using your own reference anyone can find out the following. Regarding Jose Padilla;
said by patcat's wikipedia reference :
Padilla is serving his sentence at the Charleston,(SC) Naval Weapons Station Brig.
I wouldnt call a Naval base a "terrorism" prison run by the CIA.

As for your other reference, that one is even weaker;
said by patcat's wikipedia reference :
In January 2003, Lindh was sent to a medium-security prison in Victorville, northeast of Los Angeles.
If you seriously are going to argue that a medium security prison outside of LOS ANGELES is a 'secret terrorism' prison then there is no part in arguing with you further.

Um... Jose Padilla WAS ONLY TRIED and SENTENCED as a way of the Bush administration to TRY TO AVOID a Supreme Court show Down. Guess what. It still happened. A conservative Supreme Court RULED AGAINST BUSH in a 5-4 decision stating charges HAD TO BE BROUGHT AGAINST Prisoners. So yes, you are WRONG. So that led to those SHAM MILITARY TRIALS where beaten confessions were used. Obama is suspending these trials now. Good for him. Torture is NOT A MEANS to convict someone. Let me take a baseball bat and break your legs. Let's see what you admit to.

"Bush ordered Padilla held in a military prison and the administration accused him of plotting to set off a radioactive "dirty bomb" in the United States. Padilla was never charged with that. While a challenge to Bush's authority to hold him without charge was pending in the U.S. Supreme Court, Padilla was indicted in Florida and transferred to civilian custody last year."

EPIC FAIL

A 22-year-old man believed to be a U.S. citizen has been identified among the detainees at the naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Yasser Esam Hamdi surrendered to U.S. and friendly Afghan forces after a deadly four-day prison riot near Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, in November 2001. The uprising was the same during which CIA officer Johnny Michael Spann was killed Nov. 25 and alleged American Taliban member John Walker Lindh was taken into custody.

Whats your point? By your own admission, he was tried and sentenced. Furthermore, he was never sent to Guantanamo. Lastly, you clearly have no idea how the criminal justice system works. Thousands of people each year are arrested on charges they are not later charged with, what planet do you live on???

Yes, but when they are arrested they can only be held for X amount of time or let go. YOU CANNOT HOLD A PERSON INDEFINITELY WITHOUT CHARGES. I live on Planet Earth in the Country known as the U.S. where there's a constitution that says Fail Trial, Habeous Corpus, and a right to a fair and speedy trial. IE... Not holding someone for a year or 2 WITHOUT giving them their day in court in a timely manner. Where do you live? So far you're striking out.

I'd love for a copy to stop you and take you to prison for 2 years. Tell you wait here while we fill out the paperwork. Then 2 years later charge you with something. I'm sure your whiny self would be in court SUING and yelling to the American Civil Liberties Union to get you out. Punk ass kid. You're not even worth talking to.

Absolutely correct, US citizens can not be held indefinitely without charge. Illegal combatants (you probably refer to them as 'Freedom Fighters' right? ) arent afforded such luxuries here or anywhere else. Those vile killers are lucky they are offered the choice of life; in many countries they would be executed on the spot.

O now I know who you are. You are Amigo Boy. Freedom Fighers is his word. No wonder I am arguing with a complete and utter intellectually absent person. Ah yes... This makes all the sense.

Freedom Fighters... Funny. I guess Nazis were Ethnic Crusader and Milosevic was a Christian Hero?

Dude you just take stupid to a whole new level EVERY TIME YOU SPEAK.

We can put on trial people who commit worse crimes. Hell, we just tried Charles Taylor's Son for War Crimes in Liberia. We did so in Florida. Charles Taylor KILLED LOTS OF PEOPLE via Genocide. His son took an active part in torturing and murdering them.

Hitler Did the Same and exterminated 6 million Jews. We tried the Nazis. Ones we caught anyway.

Milosevic did the same. We tried those we caught in his regime, including him.

You know what. You're just a fucking bigot. See, we can put on trial EVERYONE ELSE but Muslims. For them it's "enemy combatant label". Yet, for others, they get their day in court. Listen, killing is killing. One or millions. If we can take the worst and put them on trial, we can take some punk ass terrorist and do the same.

No go back to your Klan rally. I hear you have a cross burning at 10.

Absolutely, Charles Taylor was a head of state and his actions represented that of his government. As such he was provided with the luxury of a trial. On the other hand, you have toothless cockroaches from all over the world scurrying around various warzones with AK47's, only to merge into the population when the heat comes down on them. Those people dont even have a country to speak of, let alone rights afforded a self respecting soldier. Get your head straightened out.

Once again, YOU are the one who brought religion into this. I even said Gitmo is an equal opportunity lock up facility! I can assure you that any Jew, Christian, Hindu, OR Muslim who is arrested illegally fighting a war against this country will get a one way ticket to that beach side paradise.

Let's see. Murder is Murder. Whether it be done via the guise of a government or through the actions of "non military fighters". It's all the same.. Heads of state, Hired Gun, etc. They all kill the same. So you proved my point

And now I am glad you see it for what it is. Yes, Genocidal murders do it to. Nazis Fled and Merged into the populations of Argentina, etc. Serbs did it to hide out. Charles Taylor's men did it too.

What's your point or do you lack one? Murder is still murder whether its through a car bomb, ak47, nuclear missle. it still kills

And once again.. you fail. Keep trying there. You'll look smart one day.

As for Gitmo, you're the person who says we should just lock people up. Good. I hope when you get pulled over or questioned, they lock you up for the hell of it. No charges, no explanation.

Your whiny ass would kick and scream pleading for MOMMY to get you out. We know. What a dunce. You would ask for a lawyer, beg for the American Civil Liberties Union, and all out pee your pants if some cop came and tossed you into a cell for a few years without charges.

So don't give me that shit bud. You are a bigger talker with no brains to back up anything you say. Intellectual dunce. Let me ask, you even completed High School or you flunk out of it? Someone of your caliber just amazes me. Future Career Goals for you:

Klan Member
Grease Monkey
Fast Food Worker.

All the above.

Ok, lets review this one last time. You claim there are Americans in Guantanamo Bay, yet you (nor anyone else) can provide any proof. You repeatedly link to an article (from 2002 by the way) that indicates it had come to the attention of the US military that one person arrested might be a US citizen. As it turns out, he was! Shockingly, as soon as this information came to light he was immediately transferred and sent to a military prison here in the US (as he should being an American citizen).

quote:
He was initially detained at Camp X-Ray at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and was later transferred to military jails in Virginia and South Carolina after it became known that he was a U.S. citizen.
Another nice try! Keep 'em coming buddy.
