Re: Wow, Mafia would be proud.

What's really sad is that a 1.5Mbps connection could consume more than 200GB in a month.

Yes, but it will take all month!

I can fill my car with gas in about 3 minutes, but it takes about 7 hours to consume it if I don't stop! Luckly, it really takes about 9 days.

I sometimes download a Linux ISO. It would be nice to get that in 70 seconds. But it takes me about 15 minutes. I don't think the extra speed would cause me to download more data per month, just allow me to spend less time waiting for stuff.

The sad thing is that a lot of sites can't push 100 mbit to you (except maybe Microsoft Update). So you are not going to be able to use all that download unless you are downloading a lot of torrents....

I've been on 3Mbps / 512kbps ADSL for years - downloaded Linux ISO DVDs, etc. Sure, it took a little while, but was cost effective at $25/month

At the same time, Cable was pushing 6Mbps for $45.

Since then I bundled, got 6Mbps for $30, which has been upgraded to 10/1.

For most things... do I notice the difference ? Not really.
