Broadband subscribers in Japan also consume less than 26GB/mo on average. This is the largest contributing factor to the ~$50USD /mo pricing.

Data was collected from all of the country's broadband providers and presented last summer -- you can see the slide deck here: »www.caida.org/workshops/wide/080···ffic.pdf

The prevalence in Japan is 100mbps fiber access, not gigabit access.

on 1.5mb dsl you can average 200gb a month so i find that someone with higher speed 10mbit,25mbit,50mbit,100mbit unable to use anymore then us consumer make no sense... They may as well all be using dsl and cable if the average japanese consumer is only 26gb???
I think that sound more like a dialup user... or ISDN at best...
If I am given 1.2cap it guranteed that at least 1.2gb is used up in a matter of days

your stats are menaing less why, cause if i am able to get 1+ TB and have unlimited upload then i when i wish can and will use it.

Ya see thats the spin rogers and bell told bme 4 time son phone

90% of users use 30GB or less
then why does bell and rogers increase caps? cause it was a lie to try and force us all down and we said no and moved to TSI

even cogecos 100GB cap was better watch them now to get into a little more like maybe 150 and suddenly you have what we should a actual speed race.

Americans are now in the 30-50 megabit range in major places while were toying with 25KByte traffic shaping HAHAH

AND like i said all it takes is some really rich wealthy man to drop buy and make canada his home and put down 100 million to make his own niche and suddenly the threatened peeps will go for it, thing is if a new player came we might all give em a try if they had net neutrality as a core and good to average at least tech support that had its jobs in canada....
THATS HOW MUCH DAMAGE YOU ISPS HAVE DONE TO YOUR SELVES HERE.
watch .....What if rocky was told as with all the CAIP members that if there members switched to a ewn network that might charge them all 1$ a account less, and stop the shaping , ya think CAIP would jump en masse?
