| How is this a good deal?
I just can't understand the pricing on these ISP online storage services. There are already some very good services out there, like Mozy and Carbonite among others, that cost less than $5/month for unlimited storage (for home users). Why on earth would someone pay $31/month for 50GB (Verizon)?? This is not like the skewed pricing between ISP VoIP and indie VoIP, where the ISPs arguably provide a better service worth a higher price. Here, I don't see the value added by the ISP that would justify a higher price. Further, all these ISP services have a "me too" quality that makes me question how well thought out they are, and thus what level of reliability and security users can expect. Yet another attempt by the ISPs to gouge their consumers (I do appreciate the free 2GB from Qwest, but Mozy offers that too). |

So, they're offering this service, but you can't afford to use it, even if you want to pay the additional fee for the basic backup service.
