72 gig

Is what I used last month... from what I done in a days work... i could hit the cap on comcast's network.

Do I... No... but thats more than what I hit in a month on average... i usually hit only 30ish gigs...

Time Warner is crap... especially if they think thats enough bandwidth for todays media age... things like netflix streaming pretty much doubled my usage this month and I'm not sure if they will go back to norm again...

edit: half my post wasent there???

I just checked my logs (tomato) and I'm peaking at 75 gig/mo also, some months quite a bit less. I often work from home so during times of downloading isos (legally) and VOD, usage can spike.

I have no problem with caps as long as they are reasonable. A 250gb cap would be 3 times my peak, so enough headroom for the foreseeable future.

What I don't like though is feeling like I'm getting beaten up on all sides: even on turbo, I get a measly 512k upload. And a I'm paying I think $60/mo (no TV). On top of that, bandwidth goes down during peak quite a bit, and if the caps are low on top of THAT .... sheesh.

They should: a) provide better up/down speeds -- after all, there's a monthly cap anyway b) if caps are low, charge less for the service; some people may want fast service but not use much bandwidth, or vice-versa c) make the caps reasonable both in amount of the cap, and the pricing for overage. The current pricing looks like what cell carriers charge for text messaging. A reasonable markup is fine, but this is ridiculous.

It seems to me that all you cable isp users get $crewed so badly that walking must be really difficult. i work with large databases from home and regularly hit 3TB/month!!! (yes, T not G) and Verizon (FIOS) couldn't care less about it. I really feel privileged now.

They would if they wanna squeeze more money out of ya even if you don't have it
They would give you two choice
use less or go back to dialup
enjoy your unlimited turtle connection for pennies on the dollar
Verizon is not going to implement cap which prove that they are not part of the big monopoly such as ATT, Comcast, Timewarner, Cox all these are run or funded by the same financier.
Doesn't it seem obvious that comcast, timewarner, att are always doing the same thing, imposing the same rules and having similar motives?
COX>ATT>Comcast>TimeWarner = in bed with itself = run by the same corporate monopoly who pretend to be a different company...just because their corporate logo are different.
Thats why we see similar price, speed and goals.
