Re: [ADSL] BT Broadband blocking websites inadvertantly

Had this problem a few months back, it cleared itself after a few days, nothing that we tried made any difference. Out of curiosity use the free service

to check your sites availability and speed response from around the world, you can also use a free proxie check.

Has anyone else noticed that people with new BT Broadband connections are being blocked from certain parts of the internet?

I am a web designer who has a customer in just this situation. The website we have online is blocked to all those who access the Internet with the latest BT equipment. Those using other service providers can access the website ok.

I have since discovered more than one website is being blocked courtesy of BT. Users are getting page cannot be displayed error so most people would think the website is unavailable when in fact it is available and working correctly.

Our hosting provider indicates to us that it is a dns cache issue and that there is a cache or something similar preventing the site/s being seen by BT customers.

Has anyone else come accross this?
If not, has anyone else looked for this problem?

I'm interested in all/any replies so please if you think something might be relevant post it anyway just in case it is!

Thanks to all that respond!
