 | FairPoint personal Web pages online I'm able to get to my personal Web pages on FairPoint's server now. The current format for FairPoint's personal Web pages is home.myfairpoint.net/~username. (A few days ago it was home.myfairpoint.net/username.)
FTP access is via home.myfairpoint.net, using your username and password as credentials. Your Web content should appear in the "/public" folder.
I didn't have a lot of content at Verizon, but what I did have appears to have been transferred in its entirety. Note that FairPoint adds a file named "index.phtml" which displays an "under construction" page, along with a couple of .gif images.

 | I "found" my personal web pages, however, the pages appear to be from October of last year, since I update some pages frequently. Also, I have discovered that I can view my pages on my home computers, but I cannot at work, which I was able to do when my site was at Verizon.net. Any thoughts on why? |

 | reply to jadziedzic I am now able to access my files which were stored using FTP. The following will access files stored in my public folder home.myfairpoint.net/username/document.pdf where "document.pdf" is the name of my stored file. It will also work with /~username/ I didn't need to use my VZxxxxx username, as my preferred username worked. Note that /public/ is not used after /username/ |

Bob285 join:2008-09-10 Tenants Harbor, ME | reply to jadziedzic I too was having issues with my Verizon personal web space being ported to Fairpoint starting on 2/1/09. After two weeks now my main problem with the redirection from the Verizon url to Fairpoint's has been resolved. But, for how long. The printed and online documentation stated till 2/28/09. That means redirection for only 2 weeks. So now I have to email all semi-frequent visitors of the new url. BTW: It was interesting to note that since the conversion, my personal web space go a hit, twice, from Nikolaev, Mykolayivs'ka Oblast', Ukraine using the Fairpoint url, before redirection. All of my know visitors are in the US from coast to coast and are unaware of the new url. I find this unusual and interesting.

 | reply to jadziedzic I received the e-mail from unFairPoint Sunday (Feb15) that my personal web pages were available. But then I knew that already. However, trying to used the web-based interface to access them tries to force you to create a "new" web site. In checking ftp to the pages I notce there are three folders that are not "mine": ESW, PhotoAlbums and esw_preview. |
