en102Canadian, eh? join:2001-01-26 Valencia, CA | I tend to agree. We're seeing deflation in the cost of everything (in general) right now to attempt to kickstart the economy.
Inflation will come about soon - it'll be the early 80's again with cheaper home prices (they were market driven only), but skyrocket interest rates. As the government is printing money, the value of the dollar will be worthless, forcing inflation. |

| reply to WeSRT4 I'm seeing deflation only if buying a home, car or large ticket item. Most supermarket prices are up, fuel and energy prices are up, for anyone not buying a very large ticket item, inflation still seems the rule.
Last month gas was $1.59 locally, today it is $1.99. That is inflation, not deflation.
My anticipation is for significant inflation in a year. We print money like it was for a monopoly game, eventually the world will provide it similar respect.
If you need something durable, buy it now. Soon we will all live in million dollar homes, and pay $10 for the $1 items on the McDonalds $ menu. -- "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." |
