Hence cometh the logical conclusion- a data center that sells you a 10GBit port is obviously overselling their capacity. Overall I think it's much better for a data center to have 1000x 100Mbit racks than 10x 10Gbit racks. They'd still be overselling capacity either way, but with 100Mbit racks a few rogue machines won't bring the entire data center down. With 10Gbit racks it's enough for ONE to be taken over to seriously put a dent in your day.
