| reply to HATE TW Re: [TWC] Roll out date for the Samsung H3090
I'm in Columbus, Ohio, and I received my 3090 about 3 weeks ago. It's the 160 GB model and while I love the speed there are some things I'm not quite satisfied with. It still has version 2.4.9.2 software. I've been reading here that some people are on version 3.1.0, is that a regional upgrade, or should I contact tw about updating my box? The box also seems to have rebooted every morning when I turn on the TV, any suggestions? Also, the menu/guide stretching, is there any way to fix that? From all of your awesome information, I'm able to get into the diagnostic menu to answer any questions you might need to ask me. I'm kind of a noob in regards to the settings and what they mean, but I'm a pretty quick learner once I get accustomed to the language. |

Boxes will be updated locally when everything is in place.

A roll out of new equipment means this may happen.

| reply to HATE TW I just got back from picking up a Samsung DVR at Queens Center Mall. The DVR is nice looking and software runs really fast on the new box. It is like having Passport Echo back. It runs really smooth when it changes channels, loading the guide, the "B" search list loads fast too. happy with this new DVR. |

| reply to HATE TW Well, I went to the Kansas City TWC store on Barry road to upgrade my 4250 to DVR, and they DO NOT have any 3090's, they didn't even know of it. So it looks these are not available yet, like rv65 stated back in April. Which sucks because I'm sure this 8300 is going to be a piece. |

| One of the things My Wife and I have both Noticed the Picture Quality seems much better than the 8300hdc,I,m using Hdmi cables the fast forward is much faster on recordings than 8300hdc. but where is my caller id on TV Guess I,ll have to call TWC in the Morning, We just had a Service Outage per TWC on Phone It was for an Upgrade in Queens |

1 edit | called TWC and the caller id on tv is now back plus AMC and We which were not getting in the hd channels is now working , If you can get down to the TWC stores And get the Samsung it is a 1000% improvement over the SA 8300hdc, while I was talking to the Customer service rep he told me he wants to get the samsung. |

| reply to sticks435 Boxes have rolled out to Charlotte, just got it last weekend. Only has the 160gb drive. I HIGHLY doubt TWC will be spending the money for the 320's even with the analog/digital/HD multicasts. Only 1 complaint about the box, apparently the newest software that was loaded to the box does not support eSATA. Picks up the 1TB drive I have hooked up, but once the onboard drive is full the DVR locks up including the live buffer and even shows 11% full in the program list. I guess this is TWC's definition of '6 of one, half dozen of the other.' |

TWC San Diego is going to deploy Samsung 3270 HD-DVR's with a 320 GB HDD. |

| reply to sticks435 The 3090 will be deployed eventually. Some divisions like San Diego are getting the 3270 HD-DVR. San Diego also is getting the 3260 HD-STB which I have. It's said to be identical to the 3270. Even running the same software as the 3270. The 3260 is black and is very sleek looking albeit bigger than the 4250HDC. It's a light box. I hope to get a 3270 soon. Maybe KC will not deploy the 3090 and deploy the 3270 though thats unlikely since the 32xx boxes have some bugs that need to be ironed out. -- SA 8300HDC ODN v3.1.1_3 SMT-H3260 ODN v3.1.1_3 SA 4250HDC ODN v3.1.1_3 |

| The bugs in the 3270 seem to be minor but could be troublesome. There will be a new version of ODN that will fix them. The 3260 seems to be fine but it too has some bugs. The new version of ODN might include some new features like Keyword Search, Expanded program listings and being able to program your DVR over the internet. The 3270 though isn't up to TWC standards yet but it will soon. I expect San Diego to get it late summer to early fall. I suspect September is a more likely date. -- SA 8300HDC ODN v3.1.1_3 SMT-H3260 ODN v3.1.1_3 SA 4250HDC ODN v3.1.1_3 |

| reply to HATE TW So I just picked up the 3090 here in Brooklyn. What I hated about the SA HD DVR was TWC disabled the ability to output to BOTH HDMI and Component. Does anyone know if the 3090 can output to both? Ideally I'd like HDMI to my tv and the component to my Slingbox.
With the SA models, I could only get content from my Slingbox if I left the unit on, as turning it on via slingbox would disable the component (go figure). |
