When is TWC NYC going to get the new H3090 DVRs? |

| Not until the bugs are fixed. The Samsungs are buggy with ODN 3.1.0_11. The newer versions are better though. I don't think you'll want a DVR that misses shows and outputs at 720p even though you've set it to 1080i. The 320 GB HDD is a nice touch though some are mean and have deployed the 160 GB HDD version. |

1 edit | reply to NY11102 NYC has them available right now albeit in limited quantities. There are 2 versions. The 160 or 320 GB version. The trucks have them. I believe that Brooklyn has them. I think the other boroughs should get them soon. Only 1 or 2 of them are deployed a day so it's a rare box for now. In a month or 2 they will be in available in quantity. |

| I went to the Queenscenter Mall office and they didn't have it. The CSR told me that she didn't have any idea when TWC will roll out the H3090. I went there because I spoke with a technician when I was coming home from work, and he told me that they were getting the H3090, but only one box per day. How can I contact any cs center in brooklyn to find out about the box? |

Mentions the 3090 and the 3270. Samsung is deploying a few new OCAP boxes this year. The 3260 and 3270 have advanced features. The official tru2way STB/DVR of the NFL . The 3270 is newer than the 3090 but we all know that. A bit of marketing fluff and still buggy. Both Samsung boxes have bugs that need to be fixed but I'm sure the future ODN updates will fix it.
Hopefully TWC can ditch the stable but fugly SARA guide and replace it with a stable version of Navigator. Navigator should get better once they fix all the bugs and add some new features. |

| reply to HATE TW The 3090 does work with eSATA. One guy in Milwaukee got it fully working . It took a few reboots though in order to get it to work. He used a WD 500 GB MyBook Drive. I think the MyDVR expander could work though. I can't guarantee it though. This is with ODN 3.1.1_3. 3.1.0_11 might behave differently with it. I hope the 3270 has working eSATA support. |

Not the 320 GB one but those could be deployed later. It does support eSATA but it took 1 person at least 4 reboots before it actually works. Still no keyword search. |

my 8300hd box wasn't recording nbc hd channel and i just got it a week ago..
got the samsung SMT-H3090 today. works good so far, i'm gonna plug it into my home network and see how much trouble i can get into with it.
any questions about it, feel free to email or post and i'll see what i can find out for you..
on a side note, they didn't even have the box i got in the system / their inventory because they were so new. so it took a little longer to get from the billing office/support center.
i made the switch in person cause i don't have time for a tech to come over. |

1 edit | The ones in NYC have a 160 GB HDD . A few subscribers in NC have the 320 GB HDD. Hobgoblin a TWC employee is testing one with a 320 GB HDD. The Samsung SMT-H3270 which is being tested in San Diego has a 320 GB HDD and it's newer than the 3090. The 320 GB is only for testing or are a lucky subscriber. The Charlotte, NC division of TWC has deployed both the 160 GB and the 320 GB versions of the 3090. |

rv65 Let's just say I like Dublin Dr Pepper Premium join:2008-08-02 San Diego, CA | reply to HATE TW San Diego seems to be the only division to be deploying the 3270 though there are probably other divisions secretly testing them with employees. All I know is that it's black, has a 320 GB HDD, and stretches the guide to fill your HDTV. |

1 edit | reply to HATE TW Im in NYC too and I use the 23rd St Manhattan office. I have the 8300HDC. Besides be slow and buggy, I hate the fact that the dvr goes into sleep mode. So the option to rewind live tv is not always an option
Basically I am eager to get rid of this pos. Is it worth it to exchange now or should I wait? |

@blackberry.net | reply to HATE TW Is there a diagnostic mode like the 8300HD ? How can I find the sze of the hdd?
So far, no problems with the unit.
The manual says the network is for hooking up to another unit, but its still picking an ip from my router. |
|
rv65 Let's just say I like Dublin Dr Pepper Premium join:2008-08-02 San Diego, CA
| Yep there are 2 diagnostic menus on the unit. You can find the size of the HDD by going there. Vol+ and Info gets you into the Samsung diagnostic menu. There are a bunch of menus. The networking feature is disabled for now. The HDD diagnostic menu has the size of the HDD. If it has 160 then it's a 160 GB unit. NYC is deploying the 160 GB units. |
