And?

What makes you think that the presence of the rotten giant Comcast can prevent this craptastic, illegal, control-freak, mindless corporate idiotism from failing spectacularly...?

I hope this fails miserably as well. It is bad enough they cram crap that I am have absolutely no interest in on the cable companies resulting in inflated bills. Now they want to go after my ISP and force me to pay for more garbage I do not want.

Amen. I neither need nor want ESPN360.

I'm a Columbus, Ohio Road Runner user and CANNOT get access.

I would love to have access to it, but not nearly enough for me to call TW and bug them about it.

This is a bad business plan. It works for large-scale TV networks (MTV2 comes to mind), but not the Internet.

Site opens, nothing plays though.

ESPN360.com is available at no charge to fans who receive their high-speed internet connection from an ESPN360.com affiliated internet service provider. ESPN360.com is also available to fans that access the internet from U.S. college campuses and U.S. military bases.

Your current computer network falls outside of these categories. Here’s how you can get access to ESPN360.com.

1. Switch to an ESPN360.com affiliated internet service provider or to contact your internet service provider and request ESPN360.com. Click here to enter your ZIP code and find out which providers in your area carry offer ESPN360.com

Comcast is not an affiliate?

Neither is Road Runner, apparently.

I think Verizon is though...and I KNOW that you can get to it from any educational network (Universities, .edu addresses, etc).

Yeah, no biggie! Just wanted to see if Comcast was one of the ISPs.
It isn't.

Comcast: "Wait, we wanted YOU to pay US for our customers to access your content!"

Irony can be beautiful sometimes.

I enjoy that a BigTen campus took a pass on the 'offer' as well.

So what do we call this then?

rename network neutrality to traffic neutrality and call this ISP neutrality since websites are starting to offer different service to different ISP's?

I just hope this turns out to be a bad business model. The last thing I want is to be paying for websites I don't visit

Hmm...I thought all US universities had access to it. I know we do at OSU, since I can watch sports at work.

I can get it through Mediacom at our school but the site think's we are on AT&T Yet,on my home connection it says I am on Mediacom (wich I am for home use) but at school it says AT&T
I know Mediacom rides of AT&T but it is puzzling

1 5 ms 6 ms 5 ms 12-215-25-254.client.mchsi.com [12.215.25.254]
2 14 ms 12 ms 11 ms 12-215-4-26.client.mchsi.com [12.215.4.26]
3 95 ms 64 ms 64 ms cr1.cgcil.ip.att.net [12.122.133.146]
4 65 ms 65 ms 64 ms cr1.sffca.ip.att.net [12.122.4.121]
Wouldn't everything be just AT&T?

That Comcast is not playing along is a very good thing.

The claim that ESPN360.com is available at no charge is absolute skulduggery. In some ways this is a similar strategy that Viacom pulled over Time Warner Cable recently. Spike TV shows a message telling viewers to complain to Time Warner or they will lose the channel. They even redirected any calls to complain over to Time Warner's customer support.

Everyone should really be sending their requests to ESPN, and not their ISP. Tell ESPN that the customer will ultimately have to front the money to pay for the ESPN360.com services. All of the customers, not just the ones that actually want it.

It does not seem fair, and ESPN is to blame. They should offer a solution to those people that want to subscribe, but do not pay a bill to the right ISP. The ISP's that caved and will ultimately increase their rates to cover the losses.

That is strange. Maybe your visible IP at school is AT&T because of a proxy? but 12.215.x.x is publicly routable so who knows.

Maybe ESPN's name resolution is as goofy as their business practices are.

my dad doesnt have access to it either.

When putting in a TWC serviced zip code the only providers that come up are: AT$T, VZ, and Frontier.

I tried my zipcode on his computer and it said my cable provider didnt even provider it which i know they do because I can access it and it says "powered by Buckeye Cablesystems" i do not think their website is 100% up to date as far as partners go.
