That said, Comcast has more HD then OTA TV here, which has 0. We're served by a translator that rebroadcasts channels coming out of the Bay Area, over 100 miles south. The translator is still broadcasting in analog, and will continue to do so even after the June date, as there is no set date for translators and Low Power TV Stations to convert, however, the translator does hope to start simulcasting in analog and digital by the end of the year. »www.tiaukiah.org
Edit-We're lucky, the other translators around here, Cahto Peak, Potter Valley, Lake County and Anderson Valley have either shut down or are in the process of doing so. It's a very mountainous and heavily forested area, so without these translators you are SOL for OTA TV. |

The fact is that digital you are going to be SOL... Not up here, this area is very mountainous and heavily forested, it's one of the hardest areas to cover for cell phones in the U.S., for example. We have Redwoods that tower to 350 feet, and Douglass Fir that get around 200 feet, plus hills and mountains that range from 2000-9000 feet, that kinda messes with any signal I see you're from Indiana, I am sure you could there as it's so flat. |
