Wow,this is sort of a surprise. Avast! at almost 50%, and Avira in third place.
Also it looks like the new Norton has pretty much overcame the "hate Norton" syndrome of the past. |

Comodo AV as part of CIS, but might change to AntiVir when the new version is released. |

1 edit | reply to kim I've been using Avast for quite a while now on 2 PCs, and Comodo CIS (with the AV) on my new laptop. When I recently rebuilt my desktop system, I went with both Comodo firewall and AV like on the laptop. The other PC, my mother's, is still using Avast on it.
The main reason for going with Comodo all the way is just out of convenience. Some say that all-in-one security packages are not the way to go, but I felt this would be OK.
I still haven't seen much performance data on Comodo yet to see if it is worthwhile switching back to Avast. The few reviews I've seen, though, give it good ratings and detection for free AV software. -- "The trouble with computers, of course, is that they are very sophisticated idiots." - Doctor Who (from Robot)

1 edit | reply to kim Nice Poll, Of coarse Nod32 and Avast.
Used Norton way back when, nowadays I can't stand the bloat or its ineffectiveness. Far too many times, it has missed what others anti-v programs pick up with ease.
Other:
Spybot, Search and Destroy was not on the list. Coupled with its Tea-timer program, it blocks a lot of nastys.

| reply to kim On my machines at home (Vista 64 laptop & desktop) I use NOD 32 as part of the ESET security suite, along with other programs, Spybot S&D & Tea Timer and MBAM.
On my stepmother's machine (XP Pro) I set her up with Comodo Internet Security Suite, it's free, relatively simple to use and she doesn't surf anywhere near as risky as I do
