I'm assuming that these people would prefer to go back to dialup or dsl?
No, but they'd prefer to go with Verizon FiOS where these problems aren't as big.
Um yeah. well cosndiering most of my state has at&t POTS the chances of Verizon coming her are NIL. People act like they'll have a chocie between U-verse and FiOS and 99% of the time that won't happen. Neither at&t or Verizon is going to build where they don't already have some infrastructure in place.

FiOS is already overbuilding in AT&T territory in Texas.
