EdrickI aspire to tell the story of a lifetimePremium join:2004-09-11 Woburn, MA | Meh What I find funny is that we all know without a doubt the PIRATE bay is used for piracy of illegal software they didn't create the website to help spread the goodness of legal torrents. Instead they created the site to help people "steal" other peoples work. But since we're talking all legal stuff "legally" the pirate bay isn't held responsible. Morally however is another story.
Now that being said sure the RIAA and MPAA are being stupid at how they're handling this and should be working to create better methods and stop being so damn greedy so I support the pirate bay. That being said however since I'm going to school to work in the film industry I know how expensive it is to produce films and they need to make their money back. However I also pirate films at the same time so (meh). -- Ricky Smith

| | I find this laughable.
This is exactly like bringing a drug case against a suitcase manufacturer because some smuggler chose a 'Samsonite' brand case to hold his drugs - then went through the airport.
In what conceivable way is the pirate bay to blame for what someone does with it's search engine?

No, this is like bringing suit against the guy who built the hidden compartments in the small plane the man used to stash his drugs. Yes, he could put apple juice and animal crackers in there, but everyone knows it will be something illegal.
Now, is it a crime to build that compartment?

I'm tired of idiots using all these retarded comparisons for file sharing.
No, it's not like stealing a car, no, it's not like planting an apple you bought. It's not like anything except what it is, so shut up and find some real arguments to use against eachother.

No. It's not expensive to produce films. It's expensive to hire some windbag with a bloated sense of importance to be the lead in your movie. It's expensive to have special effects that add little to the story, look bad and could actually be done by some teenager in their parent's basement. It's expensive to ship your crew to Hawaii to film something that could just as easily have been filmed at home.
It's cheap to make a movie though, all it takes is something called talent.
