Hollywood is the devil

1, It's the shotgun theory, throw enough pellets out there and something is gonna stick. In this case, who knows, depends how 'teksavvy' the judge is. (Sorry, couldn't resist).

2, Our society is F'd up. When moviestars start making less money then people that saves lives (doctors, police, firemen, heck even military personel) I'll feel guilty of piracy (not that I do...honest). I mean, a lot of our 'stars' are typically a total waste of flesh that can pretend to be something they aren't...do they really deserve that much money? Sure they entertain us, but at what cost. Now software, that's a different story, I would feel guilty of DL'ing games that typically don't make any one person rich, but that person may have thousands of hours in development. Hollywood is just busy pumping out the crap with great trailers to keep the theatres full at any cost. Honestly, what was the last "GREAT" movie you saw? Don't even get me started on the recycled trash they are calling music right now either...

The last great movie I saw was The Dark Knight. Everything for a few years before that was pretty much crap.

I'm sitting here racking my brain trying to think of the last "great" movie I saw. I've seen some "ok" movies.

I would venture a guess it's been more than a decade since Hollywood pumped out a genuinely "great" movie.

For me: Running Scared, only 3 years old. I paid to see it a second and third time. Not for the meek.

Slacker Uprising was last great movie I saw, but I am not sure if it counts since it was distributed via torrent with a request for a voluntary contribution.

I have said before that i think the movie and music industry would do a lot better pushing for build out of open networks that are cap friendly and making more places like netflix. Instead of selling at a high price to smaller amount of the world, sell to everyone cheap. But thats just my 2 cents.

They sell SHIT and they do not want to compete with ANYONE outside of their own domain of monopoly (few big studios, that's all) - what do you think, what would happen when idiotic marketing crap would be removed from the world and people would start relying on each others' input en masse'?
Bloodbath for Hollywood and Tom Cruise and all the other, miniscule-sized, mediocre talented huge egos, when some indie movie would crush them in viewer numbers...

Make it rather two decades and you're getting close to reality.
