1 edit | MPAA, be smart (unlike the RIAA) Why doesnt the MPAA do what they do best...instead of working a way to shut down TPB, find a way to make money off of it? How about a 50$ for a years service of up to 4 new digital movies per month (one a week...every friday night!). I would probably shell out for that. They would be able to control their own content and quality. They could probably even intesert some advertising, and generate more revenue.
The RIAA sucessfully shut down napster 6 years ago. It was such a large distribution entity, and instead of finding a way to harvest it, they immediatly try and stop it. CD sales are at their lowest ever, casettes are essentially non-existant, and the future is happening now, and its a digital one. Now, there is this little program called iTunes, that, lo and behold, people actually pay for music! | | DrModemPremium join:2006-10-19 USA kudos:1 | They would ruin it by piling on tons of DRM crap that would blow up your computer and nobody would use it. | | |

When did it happen...? quote: It was such a large distribution entity,
Except the fact that it was the first and the largest it by the time it's been taken over it wasn't the only one - in fact others quickly took its place. quote: and instead of finding a way to harvest it, they immediatly try and stop it. Now, there is this little program called iTunes, that, lo and behold, people actually pay for music! And there's ZILLION MORE PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO BUY DRM-INFECTED, OVERPRICED CRAP form iTunes - what do you think, why AoMP3/allTunes/etc are STILL so popular, even despite all the retarded tricks - shutting down card services etc - these ballonheaded, overpaid, incompetent assholes tried against them?
PEOPLE HATE FUCKIN' ILLEGAL DRM, period - and as long as enough people like me are ready to enlighten them they will NOT BUY INTO THE DRM-INFECTED SHIT Apple was so happy to sell at ridiculous prices first and now trying to @ss-rape them again, offering DRM-removal for extra 30%...
...fuckin greedy piece of shit parasites, all of 'em. --
