Re: when will they realize the truth? Re: when will they realize the truth? Until it's lost its value to which our society deems acceptable.Morally, ethically and financially then piracy will be no more.
I couldn't help but add my 2 cents to this topic...
I've seen a lot of mixed feelings on this issue over the last few years. While i do not agree with "100% pirate anything and everything".I do agree with a previous poster who mentioned the argument about pirating a game or software which the person has spent 1000's of hours on and that to me ethically i wouldn't pirate.
But there's the other side of the fence where you got these mindless Hollywood movies and music that they pump out just for profit. There is no value there other than self financial profit for the people producing it. It's like asking for a steak dinner and getting dog food. I think this is pretty self evident these days concerning the media industry.
I think we're in the thick of it right now concerning piracy .We've been 5 or so years into this phase(IMO) and i think in the next 5 years it will start to resolve itself. The things we deem as valid and worth paying for will be payed for because we feel that's the ethical thing to do,the type of things that we deem that aren't worth a damn will be scaled back or will just disappear(like Hollywood crapola). And the true freeloaders, the unethical takers will appear and will be held accountable , justice is put in.
I look at this as like a small revolution in progress in the "information age". I say...give it 5 years at this rate of events,we'll have a better viewpoint on this ,maybe not even an issue then. Either its gonna be one big free for all (anarchy) or we'll find a a medium we can all live with. -- That's what I love about these high school girls, man.
