| Re: Niice said by swintec:Nice to see that Sprint/Nextel/Boost seems to be at the forefront of dropping the latest and greatest pricing and new technologies and causing the others to start playing catchup. I can think of three instances where this has happened in the last year or so alone. Every other carrier began to offer the unlimited plan before Sprint did. They simply didn't advertise constantly like Sprint does. The Boost network blows. Couple that with industry-leading costumer-service ineptitude, and there you have it: Sprint. -- "What makes us omniscient? I lived in KC for years and know far too many sprint employees who don't use sprint because the network sucks. -- "What makes us omniscient? | | | | | | Re: Niice dropped calls happen to tmo too. It all about what you can get in your area. If you have a good service with sprint then you can't beat its price. Beside Boot unlimit $50 plan have sms and mms and data. You only get unlimit voice with tmo plan for 49.99. | |
| | | | | | What are you talking about? Sprint's network is very strong - especially data-wise. Gizmodo rated their 3G network the best nationally in tests.
There's been a tremendous leap in network strength and customer service since Dan Hesse became CEO (just over a year ago).
JD Powers had their call quality the best in the SouthWest region - tied with Verizon.
Like any network and any carrier, coverage is a little different in different regions - but Sprint meets Verizon if not exceeds it in most areas.
If you want to see a sucky network, I had bad previous experiences with AT&T and T-Mobile.

Let me set a few things straight.
Your friend's phone not getting signal in KC simply becuase they're head quartered there, which means nothing, isn't an indication of the network, alone. You think that her phone has ANYTHING to do with it at all?
Second, trivial "I know people that work for sprint that won't use their service becuase it sux" is a valid source of information. Experiences differ. I can point to people that have never had a drop call ever, and some that have them all the time. Personally, I've had them for 3 years and 1 single dropped call.
And, as for the "others had unlimited plans out before sprint" comment.. um, Sprint had it in the works, announced it, and the others jumped on it QUICK to get it out before sprint. (And people wonder why companies are usually not one to release their intentions in advance these days as some here may want) ... Spring announced their plan and Verizon and ATT came out with a lame version of their own.
To be fair, AT&T had an unlimited plan before.. one at $199 and one at $99, but the discontinued them.. it wasn't until Sprint made noise that they came back out.
Personally, I can tell you how AT&T's network sucks and how I've had NO problem with Sprint in the Twin Cities, Fargo/Brainerd, All of Iowa, WI, NYC in the business district, Rhode Island, North Carolina.. I can go on.. different factors will affect the experience of a radio service.. but some people don't look at that becuase, well, it's fun to hate.
I will, however, admit that their customer service, for a long time, sucked rocks. However, I can personally say, AS A CUSTOMER, that their customer service has seen an INCREDIBLE improvement from the past.
But.. keep hating. I know it's fun.
edit: again, for the record, I also have AT&T wireless services too.. and I can count on three things.. death, taxes, and daily dropped calls in various cities I travel to regularly. See how it can be different for different people?

Let me set a few things straight.
Your friend's phone not getting signal in KC simply becuase they're head quartered there, which means nothing, isn't an indication of the network, alone. You think that her phone has ANYTHING to do with it at all? Considering it was friends, co-workers, and for a time, MYSELF who all had sprint service, I'm pretty well versed with Sprint lack of capability. For a good while I had dual service with Sprint AND TMO (2 family plans, hooray!), had both phones, and now i'm still with TMO for a reason.
Second, trivial "I know people that work for sprint that won't use their service becuase it sux" is a valid source of information. Experiences differ. I can point to people that have never had a drop call ever, and some that have them all the time. Personally, I've had them for 3 years and 1 single dropped call. Good for you.
Right.
I can say the same about TMO, yet people hate TMO CONSTANTLY. Bitching about "native coverage" which I could care less about because TMO customers don't pay roaming. I know full well how people like to hate about crap they don't know anything about. I, however, have had Sprint and a lot of experience with them (like calling on my company's behalf for a number of our users' crappy treos and other phones not getting service throughout the metro, and trying to cancel our corp plan because of their crappy network).
I will, however, admit that their customer service, for a long time, sucked rocks. However, I can personally say, AS A CUSTOMER, that their customer service has seen an INCREDIBLE improvement from the past. Since I haven't been a customer since Hesse came along, maybe they've miraculously turned their entire customer service around, but have somehow not convinced their own users enough to not bleed another 1.3 million customers in the 4th quarter.
But.. keep hating. I know it's fun.
edit: again, for the record, I also have AT&T wireless services too.. and I can count on three things.. death, taxes, and daily dropped calls in various cities I travel to regularly. See how it can be different for different people? I actually agree with you. My best friend works for ATT, and I still won't use their service because my experience with them is horrible. The *only* carrier that I think I could switch to would be VZ, but their pricing isn't as good as TMOs, plus I hate their branded phones, and I love buying phones on eBay, and only needing to switch out my sim card. -- "What makes us omniscient? Through your entire attempt to bash sprint, you summed it up in the very end as to why I, or many, can't agree with you.. in the words "My Experience with.." says a mouth full. I could go into the science of it all, but again, it's largely fanboy based rooting.
I don't doubt that you and your friends had bad luck.. I know people that hate Verizon becuase of their bad luck.. I know people, in my very home, that can't stand TMO becuase they never get good service.. thus they hate TMO.. and they're your yang on the ying part of your celebration of TMO.
I listened to you tell me and everyone how awesome your TM service is, and I don't discount it.. but, you refuse to listen how good someone elses Sprint service is and dismiss the company becuase of your own experience. For you, they're bad.. fine.. but you're a total hypocrite to sit there and stand on your morals and dismiss others.
Once you see that, you'll get the point.
