New 2Mb line and 2-4% ping loss

Hi

Need some advice, I have a new 2MB up/down business connection.

I am getting good throughput but monitoring this line I am getting 2-4% ping loss. Is this reasonable or should I complain.

When it was first installed I was having horrible connection problems, they have since replaced the cable into my office building.

Do you think they should be back again?

Thanks

This would depend on the type of service you have, does it have a SLA, and where is the packetloss?

SLA good question, they guarantee uptime of 99.99% but does this cover ping loss? I'm not sure.

I setup a test session with DSLReports pinging my line connection from California and New York.

I also setup a ping to my old works router in London which I know is very reliable on a 40MB connection.

I am using my line for VOIP so it needs to be pretty good.

Thanks

don't worry about it until the audio quality degrades.
