Re: Sprint is ok That's probably because Sprint ends up roaming on Verizon Wireless
I had Verizon Wireless once - horrible billing, poor CS and dropped calls. Left for AT&T in 2002, and I'm still on AT&T.
As far as Sprint goes, I have a work line that was a Nextel BlackBerry 8510 / 7100i (brick). Attempt to 'upgrade' it to Sprint was like pulling teeth. Treo 800W has horrible battery life. Voice quality on Sprint isn't quite as good as it was on iDEN/Nextel. |

The audio on the BB 7100i is a bit on the tinny side, but VERY consistent on quality - no garbles, dropouts, etc. On the Treo 800w, the sound appears to be a little on the 'robotic' side, with a bit of distortion (garble/muffle).
As far as speakerphone goes, I'd agree. Nextel devices are meant to be loud. Treo 800w on speaker sounds like the audio itself is over amplified.
As far as GSM goes...I've used GSM, and its pretty good, however has had garble (handoffs). AMR-Full rate on GSM or UMTS sounds better than what I got off of the Treo 800w and off of iDEN. -- Canada = Hollywood North |
