Re: 2009 Chicago White Sox Thread

If Anderson doesn't perform, and Owens doesn't or is still in Ozzie's dog house, there is a possibility that they will move Alexi to CF, put Beckham at SS, and somehow try to get Pods into the lineup in the one hole.

Doesn't make much sense to me.

50% of the Sox runs so far this year have been the result of the homerun.

I really hope this isn't a suprise to anyone. considering we still have a softball team, even if it is a touch faster. I'm seeing Quentin doing some really beastly numbers this year if he continues his hitting the way he is.

Doing better and manufacturing runs tonight - last night was a fluke in that Thornton usually doesn't do that.

Tonight they are beating up a good pitcher with the HR and with baserunning.

And Mark is continuing to look really, really good. ERA now under 2.25 and he'll probably be 2-0 after this game.

I like this team Yeah, they are still a 16" softball team at times, but Lillebridge and Getz will make a difference.

I still have deformed fingers from softball. They played good today...on a side note as Explorer 8 freezes...I liked the Lilli/Getz 1-2 slot. Its now like they're throwing names in a hat to see whos playing and in what order, with of course the exception being 3-4--5-6 slots.

It's April - Ozzie is experimenting. It's fun! We took 3 out of 4 from some guys we couldn't beat at all last season. On to Baltimore.

Nobody can say they didn't give the guy a chance.

I guess they waited till they got Obama's permission!

Seriously, who they bringing up?

Time to take this third game from Baltimore. I still think they should try Lilli out in center...although Anderson didnt do too bad last night (it hurt me to say that).

And good f***ing riddance to MacDougal. he was single handedly giving me an ulcer!

Still April - awful out there tonight. And Ozzie is still experimenting.

I'm not worried - yet.

Whats with the Owens experiment?
Every time I watch now theres been radical changes to the order. Thome is on the bench today...why?
The Sox will be as inconsistent as their batting order. I wish Ozzie would recognize this fact!

I disagree. It is very cold outside, and he's trying to find a decent combination, especially with Getz hurt.

He'll have it a bit more set by the time the weather warms up - this sort of weather is not good for Thome's back - and he always has dinked around with the order.

I'm OK with the situation to date. Not even may yet.

"Guillen said it's unlikely designated hitter Jim Thome will return to the lineup until Friday night at Texas because of a left heel bruise.

"He might pinch-hit, but I'm not going to lose a guy for 12 days when he has a couple more days to get ready," Guillen said. "I go by ear. He gave me the answer, but it wasn't a 'for sure' one."

Second baseman Chris Getz pronounced his middle right finger ready to return, but Guillen was undecided on whether to start him in Wednesday's series finale."

Yick. First game of the season for me, and I'd like to forget it! Bad sign - more people congregated around the monitors showing the Bulls game than anywhere else in the Cell...

Fridays here....lets see if we get Thome and Getz back.

If Thome is still injured , then maybe Getz could be DH giving him more time to heal that finger. They're starting to look good, but they're still stranding to many!
