Re: Comcast Ethernet service info? Comcast sales has no idea!

let's finish this up for you ... if they can't sell it, they can't service it. If they can't service it, they can't support it. If they can't support it, you don't want it.

Why don't you share with us your business needs ... what are you using now, and why are you considering something else? What business problem are you trying to solve?

you might make a posting over at the sister forum »ISP b2b etc Detail your street address with the area code and exchange of your phone number. Tell them what you have, what you're looking for, if you need the carrier to provide the router, and if it's a residential or commercial address. Several agents and carrier reps will reply with pricing options.

Biggest cost in fiber service is of course the construction. Best deal ive gotten on 5mb (4 sites) is for $600 with a 3 year agreement and $1000 install fee. Comcast doesnt even offer their ethernet product in all areas. I looked into it for a site in albuquerque NM and was told they dont even sell it there. We just signed a deal for 2 sites with comcast in houston for around $700 for 5mb. Unless you happen to have fiber right outside your location and are willing to pay a heafty install fee, i dont think $400/mo would be possible with comcast ethernet even if they do offer it.

Via any business class service (unless you would consider coax internet from comcast) 3mb is going to be very hard to get for $400 per month. Only thing i could think of that might be around that price would be some kind of local business class wireless service.

As rocky said, post in the b2b forum and see whats out there.
