Replace the router?
Get a FVS338 to replace the RT314. I'm quite happy with the FVS338 that replaced my FR114.

The RT314 tops-out at around 7000 kbps.

I upgraded to Bright House 15M turbo speed service recently.
Since my college kids have moved out, currently I have a primary (XP) desktop upstairs and laptop (rarely used) downstairs.
When I connect directly to the cable modem, speedtest shows speeds of 20-28M download and 1900 upload.
When I connect through my Netgear RT314 (wired) router, the download speed is around 5900 and the upload stays around 1900.

Do I need to reconfigure the router for the higher speed?
Replace the router?
