[Wireless] Please help! Buffalo WHR-HP-54G bridged with WHR-G54S

I've been shooting a signal to my brothers house for awhile...NetGear WNR-2000, cat5 to WHR-HP-54G(bridge)outside antenna. He picks up a fair signal without antenna but now wants to have Hotspot in house. I purchased a WHR-G54S(set to Bridge) and hooked it to an outside flat antenna. His laptop sees the connection and it's 100% but for some reason, he can't get any Internet!? The WHR-HP-54G's ip address is 192.168.11.100...I've left the WHR-G54S's IP on 192.168.11.1. Anyone out there have a clue to what I've done wrong? Also, I cannot type in the 192.168.11.1 w/ brother's laptop and access the AP. Isn't it true that you can only do this if it's hardwired? I hooked it up to my main computer at home and was able to access the router. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The ''main'' is should have Static IP
The other one DHCP

No, names not the same. I've been told that the gateway ip needs to be the same on both bridges but...I cannot find anywhere to change the gateway IP in the first bridge that has Tomato 1.17 firmware!? When I look in the "Current Routing Table", it shows an IP address and Subnet mask but only has an "*"(astrick) for the gateway ip. So, if I'm supposed to have the same gateway IP, how do I change it on the Tomato 1.17 bridge?

Ok, I looked through the configuring WDS PDF file...pretty straight forward when you have the original Buffalo firmware setting up the bridge. Unfortunately, I have Tomato software on my first Buffalo bridge which is like trying to configure an alien space craft!? So, I guess I'm f&%@*ed! If there's anyone out there that can decifer Buffalo firmware to Tomato firmware I'd appreciate the help! Otherwise, I might as well buy a new Buffalo router so I can get the original firmware back!

Or flash all your Buffalo routers to Tomato. Seriously, going to the "Basic:Network" tab in Tomato should let you enter your default gateway ip.

That's really not necessary, "adrman" has the best advice. But if you do, and the price is right, I'll buy the old one from you.

Ok, at first I thought I bricked the whr-hp-54g...I hit the reset and can no longer access the router. I hooked it up to my computer(set it back to Auto instead of bridge)and I'm getting the internet! I still cannot access the router though! I finally figured out that I could use 192.168.1.1 and the little logon screen popped up but now no Username or password will get me into the router! Frustration is really setting in! But, at least I know I didn't brick it! Is there a special Username and password you use for Tomato firmware after you reset it? I've tried root and blank for the password...also my old username and password...can't get in!

I believe you have to go back to your original default (Buffalo) log in. On the Linksys it's blank user name, "admin" password.

Boy, I've tried everything that I can think of! I've tried root for the Username, admin...nothing seems to work! When I type 192.168.1.1, is says "The server 192.168.1.1 at tomato requires a username and password"...so I assume I'm trying to access the right router. I have the damn thing connected in place of my usual NetGear router...don't understand why I can't get into it!?

What's funny is...if I just connect the router via cat5 cable to my Netgear router and type 192.168.1.1...I open up my Starband modem firmware! Now isn't that wonderful?

WHR-HP-54G is back up and running! I guess I never tried root for the Username and admin for the password! Walla! finally back into the firmware! It's not dead after all! Course, I already ordered a couple wap54g's which should be easier to setup for a bridge!

I think PeeWee has dibs, but if the price is right and he passes, I'd take the old Buffalo off your hands as well. I can always use a spare.
