Re: Will I be able to get 10mbps - New Westminster?

Yes I called Telus to ask for the 6 mbit upgrade but the guy said the fastest that my area allows is 3mbit and I should call them in 6 months to check back if they made upgrades... I've been with Telus for almost 6 years now and I ne ver had any major issues. Everything is working fine for me from pings to bandwidth but I want my downloads to be faster than 3mbit. I wish they could just upgrade the stupid wires faster. Every time i start downloading i get a spike up to 500 kb/sec for like the first 5-10 seconds and I feel my line can support 6mbit at least. I get my full 330 kB/sec at all times of the day and never had issues with my pings when gaming. Its just I see that 10 to 15mbps at Shaw for like the same money I pay right now and I get frustrated. I guess i can't have it all... ;(

Why not get both Shaw and Telus then?

Use your Telus line for gaming, and use your Shaw link for downloads. No one said you can't have both.

The funny thing is that Telus tells you that you can get only 3Mbit. Most salespeople will sell you 6Mbit even if you can't get it.

And why not give Shaw a try? You can always cancel after a month. See what you can get and see what your pings are - maybe you'll get lucky.
